Omega’s 2022 novelty Seamaster Diver 300M is “available soon” starting at $5100 on a rubber strap or $5400 on the bracelet. The rich, deep forest green makes me want to run out and try one on, especially with that matching rubber strap. Even though the Seamaster 300M and myself have a few minor disagreements, it does look great in its new shade of green. There’s just something about them that calls back to that era of design which comes off as a bit too “in-your-face”. The two major ones are the handset and the bracelet design. As an Omega fan, there’s a lot to like, but there are also some design elements that look more at home in the 1990s than they do today. This is a watch that I’ve gone back and forth on. This updated feature set results in an accurate, reliable, and handsome movement that’s you can admire through the sapphire case back. A Co-Axial escapement, Master Chronometer METAS certification, magnetic resistance, a silicon balance spring, and a rhodium finish. Inside, you’ll find one of Omega’s accurate and reliable Calibre 8800s. The Diver 300M comes mounted on a stainless steel bracelet with a diver’s extension clasp or a handsome green rubber strap that looks excellent on the water-ready timepiece. The modern Diver 300M still has the same beautiful twisted lugs and faceted bezel design which help the watch remain recognizable at a glance. The date is now down at 6 o’clock and printed on a date wheel that matches the dial. The dial is now a Zirconium Oxide ceramic polished to a high shine and laser engraved with a more minimal set of waves.
